WMS Fire: Accreditations
The Chief Fire Officers Association now strongly recommends third party certification by a UKAS accredited organization, for companies who design, install, commission and maintain fire detection and alarm systems. This now applies to all fire detection systems, as of 1st September 2008.
Founded in 1901, the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) is the UK’s leading trade association representing the interests of contractors who design, install, inspect, test and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and services.
BAFE is supported by Government, Statutory bodies, the Fire and Rescue Services, Insurers and leading Trade Bodies. BAFE develops Third Party certification schemes with all the interested parties and works with UKAS accredited Certification Bodies to assess and approve companies to these standards.
Certification International is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to provide certification to ISO 9001.
ISO 9001 is recognised as the most prevalent international standard. The Fire Industry Association, or the FIA as we are more commonly known, is a not-for-profit trade association with the aim of promoting the professional status of the UK fire safety industry.
